Interesting. I have mixed feelings about the casting choice, but Depp usually acquits himself in high style for whatever he ends up doing. And Burton's certainly the right man for the job visually (though, if they had a little more daring, I might suggest Guy Maddin).

and I suppose it's age appropriate for the era, but, ya know, I gotta agree that an older type would seem better for the source material...
Oh, I agree. See my response on Joe's blog. My thinking is that Brian Cox or Brendan Gleason would have been a step in the right direction.
