Well Well Well...

Not many of my readers enjoy reading about politics either, but, you know, these are some of the things that fill my head with thought...If nothing else, I hope you enjoy the biased-rant nature of them. (From whence comes this meta-crap, anyway?)

Regardless, I recommend you take a look at GHWBush's breakdown, if you haven't seen it already...What on earth is happening here?

Speculation's run amok, but I'm leaning towards a "look at the mess that's become of our legacy" kind of reading, specifically commenting on the Chimp in Charge's inability to "accept defeat" like his other son...

Just sayin'.

OK, maybe this is because I have dad issues with two of them conspicuously absent and me now one, but I think this might be taking a cheap shot. My grandfather used to start crying at the question "who wants to say grace?" at that age, and none of us were governors n'shit.

I mean, maybe, it isn't impossible, but it seems crass to speculate. Kinda, y'know, FoxNews.

Why bother? There's so many better targets and the possibility of kicking a honest moment of paternal love seems enough reason to leave it alone.

Wow, JJ advising restraint...These are the end-times, people.

And advising the high road, no less.

Terry Schiavo, Katrina, 9/11, Michael J. Fox, Swift Boat...

Exactly. If we become them...

Yeah dude, I kinda felt sorry for him. It was weird, he sounded so fragile(in every sense of the word).

You'll have to pardon me for being cold, then, y'all.

Not that I don't sympathize for whatever emotional turmoil he's going through at that moment, not that I don't allow the man his time of whatever he's going through.

When I look at this man, however, I see the man who approved funding for Saddam, for Noriega, who buddied up to the bin Ladens of the world; and I think of the untold pain he has caused for people everywhere in the name of personal gain in the guise of patriotism, and I simply cannot divorce that man from the visage who is apparently moved by familial concerns.

Were he Bill O'Reilly, or Newt Gingrich, or Rush Limbaugh, I'd doubt that any of us would be so willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, simply for being mouthpieces of the movement aided by the man you see crying for his son.

Maybe JJ is right, and I am dangerously close to becoming that by which I can't abide simply by speculating what's happening here, but I don't recall ever seeing such mercy from the man in question. And if I am correct at guessing the cause of this personal distress, then I'll take a moment to view it and think to myself "you reap what you sow, asshole."

Politics? God! Who cares about politics? God!

Oh, wait, I do.

I gotta say this seemed genuine to me. Say what you want about HW and the shit that he did (including sticking himself in Barbara and thereby giving us his wretched, wretched son), I don't think he was the worst president we ever had. (Again, see the wretched, wretched son.)
